An article out today is a perfect example of what will most likely NOT be helpful to improve the situation of climate refugees and immigrants already living and working in our communities.
Does anyone know of programs out there that communities or individuals are already doing or can look into to help welcome migrants and refugees? I know there are some out there so please share and hopefully we can inspire more people to take up these kinds of things in their own communities.
Migrants and refugees are human beings with families and dreams and full of potential. The reasons for the disruption of their lives is out of their control. What would you do if you were in the same situation? The Climate Economy did a presentation on women in The Climate Economy back in February, where we talked about climate refugees. Here’s the link to the article in the Guardian about climate refugees. This is already a huge problem and we need to be prepared to help as more and more people are displaced.
